Coco's Visit - Week of Mar. 8th

Cameron is one lucky boy....his cousin, Coco, a freshman at Georgetown University, decided for the third(!) year in a row to spend her spring break with his family in Grand Rapids. What a fun time they had! Monday included an outing to Ada Park and although the snow was still on the ground, the sun was shining. Tuesday eve was dinner to a family fav, Roses, where Cam dined on pasta and enjoyed tasty caramel corn for the first time!

Even though he struggled with a cold this week, he still enjoyed bath time with the super cool green foam that Julie provided. Wow, looks like someone may need a haircut!

Cam's expanding eating habits continue to surprise his parents. For example, the boy absolutely loves green salad with croutons and ranch dressing. Of course, no one can resist some delicious pudding now and then either, especially Cameron. It's definitely up there with oreos.

We can't thank Coco enough for staying with us and playing with Cam! With all of the pictures that Cameron endures every week, Chris & Jane think that some days he must feel like the paparazzi are always following him!

Geek in Training - Week of Mar. 1st

Cameron had a full entertainment schedule this week. Monday began with a trip to Outback restaurant. Cam wore his 'Geek in Training' tshirt that Chris brought home a couple of years ago from a computer conference. Cam loves the Outback mac-n-cheese and ate quite a bit! In fact, the growing boy has had quite the healthy appetite lately, trying even more new foods and loving them all.

His increased appetite has definitely been a good thing with a medicine called baclofen that he's now taking. It is used to help relax his tense muscles.

One of Cam's favorite activities is 'watching cartoons' with Chris, which translates into Chris playing the Wii and Cameron using his own 'remote' to play along.
On Saturday evening, the neighbor girls all walked over to join in the Wii gaming too. As good as Cam and Chris are at the Wii, the girls did rule Saturday eve!

Art & Musicals - Week of Feb. 22nd

Cameron's social calendar really filled up this week!
Tuesday evening included an outing to Wellerwood School to participate in an arts project evening. Cam met lots of teachers that work with his favorite, Julie. The big boy got his hands full of pottery and paint in his first sculpting project. Luckily, for Chris and Jane, they will be receiving the finished project once the clay is "cooked" and returned. Cam also had a chance to play the drums, maracas, and even cymbals.

Cameron, Jane and Chris are so thankful for their friends and neighbors, the Raisch family. Not only are the four girls wonderful playmates for Cam, but they always make a point to invite the entire family to activities. Thursday evening was Megan Raisch's musical performance at Thornapple elementary. Chris & Jane weren't sure if Cameron would enjoy the louder music and crowds of people, but he really loved it!

Sunday was another gathering with the Raisch family to close out the Olympics. Everyone had so much fun watching all of the events and cheering on the USA. Now, it seems that we've started a tradition to host the Wii Olympics every Sunday at our house!

Piano Practice - Week of Feb. 15th

Cameron has had private piano lessons with his ever-talented Grandma and he definitely loves to play! Luckily, she has decided that Cam only need pay her for the lessons in kisses & snuggles!

With all of the snow outside, Cameron has been walking in his pacer in the basement, which by all accounts, is not very exciting. So, it was quite a treat for him and Chris & Jane to be able to get back out on the driveway in the crisp, fresh air. Cam no longer has a "seat" in the pacer and he's still walking like a champ.
The family and Annie have had lots of fun with their neighbor friends, the Raisch family.
Watching the Olympics and competing in "Wii Olympics" have been the favorite activities. Dessert eating was also on the list and Cameron couldn't resist trying out a handful of Cool Whip- he sure did enjoy that!

Now that Cam is moving around more, he loves to play a game of 'cat and mouse' with Stella. Fortunately for Cam, Stella is quite patient and tolerant of his curiousity!

Valentines & Chocolate - Week of Feb. 8th

Cameron received some super cute cards for Valentine's Day and a very special bear from Grandma. The bear plays "Sugar Pie" and Cam loves the music! Grandma also brought some very tasty chocolate cupcakes- Cam even shared some with his Dad...

Annie was a big help with Cameron this week while Jane finished a large project for work.

Over the weekend, good friends and neighbors, the Raisch' came over to watch the Olympics and eat together. Emma Raisch loves to play with Cam and they had fun pushing a ball back and forth to each other.

Cameron is definitely gaining more independence daily exploring his world and moving around.

He also has quite a funny sense of humor as proven when Jane was trying to keep Cam away from Annie's computer. Without looking at Cam, Jane said "Well Cam, I guess you better give Annie a smile..." and without skipping a beat, Cam looked over at Annie and put on his best cheesy grin!

Hugs and kisses to all from Cameron, Chris & Jane this Valentine's...

Boys Week - Week of Feb. 1st

It was a busy week in the Weatherford household...for all you faithful bloggers...apologies for the late posting! Cameron is pictured in his new Disney hoodie from his cool cuz, Coco, who he'll be able to visit with in just a few weeks!!

Jane had to fly out of state for work two days this week, so Chris, Annie, Grandma and Grandpa had lots of fun playing with Cam. Because the boys ruled the house, Chris couldn't resist having Cam join him in some Super Mario Bros. fun on the Nintendo Wii. Chris refers to this as Cam watching cartoons with him. Due to separate remotes, Cameron feels like he's controlling the game too!

Cameron's combat crawling has been taking him places around the house and has allowed him to explore on his own, including some things that he wouldn't normally have access to - like people's purses... his daily exercise now includes lots of combat crawling as well as walking in his pacer.

SuperBowl Sunday included a gathering with good friends and neighbors, the Raisch family and also our Annie. Patti supplied a delicous array of food and Steve made his special hot wings. All the kids and adults had a great time! Way to go Saints!!

Markers are Washable?- Week of Jan. 25th

Jane & Chris seem to remember when they were little kids that markers were not washable... and now, Cameron has the ability to draw on paper and himself and not have it be a big mess!

He's enjoying working with the markers more and more. One of the pictures he made with Annie is proudly displayed on the refrigerator.

Cam still loves eating fruit and watermelon remains one of the favorites! Chris reminds Cam that he is so lucky he lives in a world where you can buy watermelon in Michigan in wintertime! Notice that he also appears to be hording the melon so Chris & Jane can't have any...

Sitting on the kitchen chairs is good exercise for Cam and every new experience most often brings a sweet smile to the big boy's face. Behind Cameron is a beautiful bouquet of lillies that Chris brought home. Jane's smile was just as big as Cam's!

Restaurant Dining- Week of Jan. 18th

Cameron's social calendar was quite full this week with two restaurant outings! Cam's tolerance and patience for eating out is actually better than most adults!

Monday was Anne's birthday, so everyone went to Outback restaurant to celebrate the fun occassion. Cam loves the Outback mac-n-cheese and drank a huge glass of milk too. A free birthday sundae completed the meal and Cameron was pretty happy Annie decided to share.

Saturday night was a mexican fiesta at Don Julios when Jane, Chris and Cam took Ronda out to dinner. Cameron loved the tortilla chips and tacos.

Another exciting event this week was the removal of Cam's "seat" on his walker. The big boy handled the challenge like a champ!

Chris also took the time to put Cameron's "license plate" up on the door to his room. Grandma gave him the license for Christmas and now his name is officially displayed.
