Summer Time - Week of June 23rd

Summer is in full force and Cameron had a little backyard time with Chris over the weekend. The grass seemed to tickle his toes a bit, but it already seems that he will have a great love of the outdoors, just like his parents.

It was a busy weekend for the Weatherfords. Friday evening included a dinner & homemade ice cream tasting contest with 2 neighborhood families. Cameron was watching all of the neighborhood kids running around and playing, knowing that someday he'll join in the festivities. Cam also had fun attending a going away party for friends Laurie and Randy. As you can see, Cam's not too happy in this picture, but that's because a nasty mosquito is trying to have him for dinner!

After the party, Chris & Jane took Cameron to visit with his godparents, Chris & Jo. In this picture, Cam's godfather is giving him a "high 5." Cam had lots of fun looking at all of the toys his future best friend, Will, has received. Will is due to enter this world in early September. It was quite funny to see Katie the cat, react to Cameron.
On Sunday, Cam's babysitter, Sarah, came over to hang out with him while Chris & Jane went on a movie date. Thanks Sarah!!

Puff...Yummy! - Week of June 16th

This week included a couple of new eating adventures for Cameron. First, he tried Gerber Graduate Puffs for the first time. If you've never seen these, they look similar to a Lucky Charms piece of cereal (not the blue diamonds or purple horseshoes). The puffs dissolve easily and they're supposed to help in the process of switching to more solid foods. Cam wasn't quite sure what to do with the puff at first, but he seems to like them.

Over the weekend, Chris & Jane once again celebrated Jane's birthday with a special cake from her favorite bakery (Ryke's!), compliments of Grandma Mary Ellen. Chris thought Cameron might like a little itsy, bitsy taste of ice cream.
And of course, just like his parents, he really seemed to love it!

Cam saw a beautiful Lake Michigan sunset at the family cottage and hung out with all of his cousins, aunts, uncles and Grandma & Grandpa. He even met cousin David for the first time, visiting from Texas.

For those of you trying to read what is on Cameron's shirt, it says "I TCP/IP, but mostly IP." If you're into technology like Cam's parents, then this should give you a little chuckle...

Happy BDay Mommy - Week of June 9th

The family celebrated Jane's 3xth birthday on Monday! Cameron didn't say 'mama' this week, but Grandma Mary Ellen swears that she heard Cam say 'mommy!' Well, it seems that he hasn't uttered this word in the company of anyone else, but Jane is definitely not debating what Grandma heard!

Cameron tried out a new toy- the safari roll. Although he wasn't quite sure what to do with it, he seemed to find it interesting and decided it tasted pretty good...

Cam is definitely wanting to explore the world around him. He looks like he's getting to crawl as he tries to coordinate all limbs to move forward. He's not quite there yet, but works very diligently at this task.

Jane's family thinks he's a 'cuddlebug' (Jane's term) because he loves to snuggle when he's sleepy or when he's just woken up.

Chris celebrated his first official Father's Day on Sunday! Although Cameron didn't say 'dada' or 'daddy' it's obvious to everyone how very much father and son adore each other!!

Weekend at the Cottage - Week of June 2nd

Wow- Chris and Jane have never been this late with a posting. For those of you who are 'regular' Cam bloggers, it won't happen again.

It's true when people say babies change so quickly and every day seems to bring something new!

Cameron keeps practicing his tummy time and playing with toys while on his back. He loves to chew on his fingers and his new favorite 'word' or sound is "oooohhhhh." It's very funny when he says it, because it's not just one time, but over and over. This makes Chris and Jane giggle and then, of course, Cameron giggles.

Cam's eating his stage 2 Gerber food in his highchair and loves to throw the plastic keys on the floor. He really seems to like almost every food he tries, but his definite favorites are squash, sweet potatoes, and bananas, in that order.

Cameron spent the weekend at the family cottage on Lake Michigan and although, it was a wet, rainy weekend, he spent time with his Aunties, cousins, godparents and friends. Cam gave them all a show, giggling, oh-ing, and providing the best entertainment anywhere around!

Congradulations Lauren! - Week of May 26th

Now that Cameron has been exposed to more people in the last couple of months, Chris & Jane decided that they would see if Cam could adjust to a new babysitter. Like all difficult challenges, Cameron tested his new sitter, Sarah, the first evening. But, by the second time she came to visit, Cam gave Sarah a break and accepted her in.

Saturday was a big day for Cam- 'Big Sis' Lauren had her high school grad open house. Cameron spent lots of time being held by many pretty ladies, especially 'Sweet Andrea' and he thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!

Sunday was a special treat for Chris, Jane & Cam. They ventured out on a long walk to one of their favorite places for a late breakfast, the Gathering Place. Cameron was such a good boy hanging out in his stroller the entire time.

Cameron is working on learning to roll around and also sitting up in his high chair to eat three times a day. However, it's easy to see that his favorite activity to practice is definitely laughing! His giggle is infectious and Chris & Jane can't help thinking that's it the best sound in the whole wide world.
