Florida Again - Week of May 11th

Greetings to those of you patiently awaiting this late blog entry! The family has had a tough time adjusting since arriving home from Florida vacation..

Cameron, his parents, and his nanny, Anne, all departed Thursday morning before the sun was up. Cam was a wonderful traveler, once again, on both flights and his fellow passengers were very appreciative.

Thursday afternoon included a dip in the family's rental home complete with private pool on a screened-in area which was perfect to keep the bugs out. Cam enjoyed the sunshine and seeing lots of different birds. The highlight of Cameron's trip was definitely playing in the pool... he loved kicking his legs and splashing with his arms.

Saturday's excursion was a little drive over to Sanibel Island to dip our toes in the Gulf of Mexico and search for seashells on the seashore. The water was so warm and the weather was perfect!

The family enjoyed lots of laughs and clowning around while on vacation. Can you spot Cameron, Chris and Annie in the sunset picture?
Many thanks to Annie for joining us and congratulations to Leslie & J.B. on their beautiful beach ceremony.
Without their nuptials, Cam wouldn't have had such an awesome vacation!!

Happy Mom's Day - Week of May 4th

Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful Mom's out there!!

Cameron had a walk almost every day due to all of the sunshine- what a lucky boy!

All of that strolling through the neighborhood sure makes a growing boy hungry... so, a little pudding snack was definitely in order! Cam was a little more interested in getting the pudding out of the bowl rather than putting it in his mouth. Maybe he just wanted ice cream instead:)

Sunday was a special day for Jane and Grandma. Cameron traveled with his parents to the family cottage to celebrate Mother's Day. Although it was a bit chilly, they had a very nice visit and had a great time playing with Grandma.

Cam laughed and played most of the day... as you can see, that can certainly wear a kid out!
Sweet dreams everyone...

Bike Ride - Week of Apr. 27th

It feels as if the warmer weather is here to stay! With our flowers blooming and bright sunshine shown through the windows, it turned out to be a beautiful weekend.

Cameron was presented with a new experience this weekend- bike riding with Chris! Many thanks to the Meade family for providing the ultra cool kid bike trailer for Cam. His first ride with Chris was a short one, but he seemed to get used to the idea. Longer rides are definitely on the future agenda.

Cam's always been a great eater and he definitely wants to use the utensils by himself more and more. One of his favorites is Jane's famous mac-n-cheese and chicken tetrazinni with broccoli and mushrooms. Yes, it seems that Cameron will be a pasta fan, just like his parents.

A special thanks to Aunt Joyce & Uncle Joe for spending a day with Cam this week- he definitely had a great time.
Cameron's hoping all of you have a great time too this week- he always does...

Park - Week of Apr. 20th

It was quite a busy week for the Weatherfords and everyone was anticipating the weekend... with the beautiful weather on Friday, Cameron had a walk in Ada Park with Grandma and Jane. Cam was so excited to be in bare feet and feel the grass under his toes. He's much more vocal now, trying new sounds and calling out to be sure that everyone's paying attention.

Saturday was the family's first spring trip up to the cottage. They stopped in at Grandma's to pick up some furniture where Cam experienced his first 'unofficial' piano lesson from Grandma! He definitely seemed to enjoy the ivory keys and had a fun time practicing.

Although the day was rather wet and dreary, Cameron brightened it up by visiting with Annie and his favorite Aunts and Uncles. He kept them all very entertained for quite some time and put on quite a show! They were so enthralled that everyone forgot to take pictures.

Rest and relaxation were on the agenda for Sunday and Cam had a fun visit with one of the neighborhood kids.

Cautious Stella - Week of Apr. 13th

It seemed like a long week for Jane & Cameron- this was the first time since Cam was born that Chris was out of town for 5 days due to work. It is debatable who missed Chris more!

Cameron helped Jane make a special sign and they had balloons waiting when Chris arrived home Friday night. Cam was very happy to see his Dad!!
Cameron kept very busy during the week though- playing with Annie and Grandma during the day and spending quality time with Jane in the evenings. He went for two walks on Friday- one was all the way to the family's favorite ice cream place.
The weekend included lots of quality time with both Chris and Jane and the entire family enjoyed the beautiful weather on Saturday.

Cameron is definitely attempting to win over Stella these days. Due to the fact that he hasn't grabbed "too much" of her hair, she is still content to be patient with him.
Chris and Jane sometimes think that Stella believes she is Cam's assigned protector. Whatever the case, the two of them do play nicely together... at least for now:)

Happy Easter - Week of Apr. 6th

Happy Easter everyone!!

Jane's family drove in today and went to brunch with Cam, Chris and Jane at the Spinnaker restaurant. The food was tasty, the company was great and the Easter Bunny even made an appearance.

This was Cam's first exposure to the big white rabbit, so Chris and Jane were unsure how he would react. Apparently, an oversized rabbit with a somewhat creepy smile was ok with Cam.

The rest of the week included more fun moments for Cameron as well...

A walk in Ada Park with Annie & Jane complete with a quick trip to the ice cream shop afterwards- yummy!

Jane's new favorite outfit on Cam that reads "property of mom..forever."

And, of course, what week would not be complete without some horsing around with Chris!!

Hope all of you were surrounded by family and friends on this holiday...

Fredrick Meijer Garden Visit - Week of Mar. 30th

It seems that almost every week brings a new experience for Cameron.

And on Sunday, he had his first trip to Frederick Meijer Gardens to see the butterflies!

It was a special treat because his cousins, Harper & Maya, their parents, Lisa and Dirk, Aunt Joyce, Aunt Gay and Aunt Betsy all met Cam and Jane there. They enjoyed walking through the cactus gardens and the rainforest/butterfly area where they all tried to spy as many butterflies as they could. After butterfly viewing, the entire gang, along with Chris, enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Sundance.

Saturday included a fun visit with Brandon and the family was so happy to see him!
Cam brought home a little souvenir from the butterfly exhibit... although we didn't know that butterflies were that tasty!

Broken Glasses - Week of Mar. 23rd

Cameron learned to do something that we hope he won't repeat again...he successfully broke his glasses!
He's become very adept at sneaking his glasses off of his face and while his nanny was telling him 'no' and putting them back on, he pulled oh so hard. Little did Cameron realize that since the lenses weren't broken, Jane just had to take them in and the eye doctor put them in a new frame.

Grandma was here twice this week and she and Cam had lots of quality time together.

Cameron can't decide which activity is his favorite with Grandma- reading books and turning the pages or catching the pop up balls from his train. Both definitely put a big smile on his face and as you can see, he loves waiting for the next pop up ball to surface!

The weekend brought some much needed relaxation including a date night for Chris and Jane on Friday (if you haven't seen the movie "Slumdog Millionaire"- it's recommended) and a dinner party at Cam's 'crib' with 'Uncle' Keith and 'Aunt' Bobbi on Saturday.

Sunday was spent indoors due to the chilly Michigan weather, but Cam can always have some fun inside too.
As pictured here, Cameron loved his shoulder ride from Chris.
Here's hoping spring sticks instead of more snow!!
